Art Camp by organization of Almádi P-Art Foundation
The Art Camp organized by the Almádi P-Art Foundation was realized within the framework of the Vörösberény Kerényi Imre Program between July 20-24, 2020. The aim of the camp was to expand the fine arts knowledge and develop the creativity of children aged 6-10 years.
On the first day, participants were engaged in yarn work, in which pom - pom, yarn doll, bird, bracelet making was in the focus. Felt balls and tulips were made from wool, which were finalized in the following days. They created a straw picture and pounded a basket out of “pedignad”. In the following days, the children became acquainted with the hosiery technique and also made animals from leather and worked with pearls. A mask was made of paper and a candlestick made of ceramic plasticine.
In addition to handicraft classes, there was an opportunity to visit the painter Lajos Veszeli, who welcomed children aged 6-10 with delicious snacks and cooling drinks in his pleasant home. The short painting session gave impression of the use of paint and mixing of colors, through the inspiration of the environment. Participants selected an interesting part of the house or surrounding and made their works first with graphite and then with watercolor, while the artist assisted the creative process with useful advices.
One of the important goals of the camp was to present the history and current sculptures of the Handshake Europe Sculpture Park. Unfortunately, the weather would have been more favorable for swimming, but there were still many interesting facts and characteristics about the sculptures and the Sculpture Park in the interpretation of the art teacher László Fábián. In summary, the Art Camp met the objectives of the Vörösberény Imre Kerényi Program, as it brought 6-10 year-old participants closer to the arts and highlighted the diversity of our cultural heritage.
