In the Handshake Europe Sculpture Park, visitors can encounter both Hungarian and foreign classic sculptures, as well as non-figurative space sculptures.
St. Elizabeth's Park
The history of one of the most beautiful, wooded parks on the shores of Lake Balaton dates back to the time of scientist Dezső Véghely. The very first statues were placed as early as 1902 in the area of today's St. Elizabeth's Park.
Pantheon of Balatonalmádi
In the Pantheon of Balatonalmádi, busts can be find of those prominent persons who did a lot for the development for Balatonalmádi. The park has been opened since March 2018.
Handshake Europe Sculpture Park
The largest park in Balatonalmádi, right along the road No. 71, is located in the ancient wooded St. Elizabeth's Park, where the works of both Hungarian and invited sculptors from abroad can be found.
The idea for the outdoor exhibition was created by Lajos Veszeli, a painter from Balatonalmádi. At his initiative, the Municipality agreed in 2012 to create a sculpture park in the primeval park between the railway station and the pier, thus increasing the cultural and tourist attractiveness of our city.
The sculpture park opened in August 2013.

Location
The Handshake Europe Sculpture Park is located right on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, in the center of Balatonalmádi, in the St. Elizabeth's Park along the main road 71.
The sculpture park is easily accessible by car and public transport. By car, it is advisable to look for a parking space in the parking lot of the Pannonia Cultural Center by the road 71 and Petőfi Sándor street or in the parking lot of Wesselényi beach. You should cross the railway crossing 350 meters away to get to the parking of Wesselényi beach.
If you arrive by train, the sculpture park is only separated from the train station by an underpass in the direction of Lake Balaton. The bus station is two minutes away from the railway station.
Balatonalmádi Pantheon (sculpture park of Balatonalmádi celebrities) is situated approx. 500 meters far (a 10-minutes walk) from the Handshake Sculptor Park. It was established in a small park next to the Balatonalmádi Health Center at the beginning of Petőfi Sándor street.
It is advisable to approach it on foot, if you arrive by car, it is worth parking in one of the aforementioned places. Parking is free in the entire area of Balatonalmádi.
