The Handshake Europe Sculpture Park is located right on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, in the center of Balatonalmádi, in the St. Elizabeth's Park along the main road 71.

Balatonalmádi is a rapidly developing holiday town near the north-eastern bay of Lake Balaton, on the slope of “Öreghegy” descending to the lake. The town has a 7 km long coastline. It follows a semicircular-shaped peninsula stretching into a lake, surrounded by varied mountain ranges and rolling hills, thus providing the city with an amphitheater-like, unique location.

There are four beaches in the spa town for water lovers. The “Wesselényi” beach is the largest beach in Balatonalmádi with many catering units, recreation and sports facilities. It is located in the central part of the settlement. “Budatava” beach is a shady, well-kept, smaller beach. The big beach and the small beach of Káptalanfüred are located in the western part of Balatonalmádi, they also await their guests with numerous quality services.

Balatonalmádi has many sights and attractions, which makes it worth visiting the city at any time of the year. The “Óváry” lookout offers a wonderful panorama of Lake Balaton, and you can see almost the entire Fűzfői Bay. Going to the lookout or coming, you can't miss the 375,680 steam locomotive that once ran on the Alsóörs-Veszprém railway line, which now commemorates the closed railway line on a bridge made of red sandstone.

The settlement has a history of hundreds of years. The oldest area of today's Balatonalmádi is the medieval Vörösberény, of which perhaps one of the most important historical attractions is the 900-year-old fortified Calvinist church. Architecturally, it is worth visiting St. Imre Church, which is only a 5-10 minute walk from the center. The church, completed in November 1930, follows the traditions of Transylvanian architecture in its external forms, but the Permian red stone characteristic of the buildings around Lake Balaton is decisive in its facade elements.

In addition to the above, Balatonalmádi has many exciting sights. You can find more information on the city's official website at www.balatonalmadi.hu.
