Willi Baumeister was born in 1927 in Falkenberg, Germany, and died in 1997 in Bad Griesbach. After earning the profession of blacksmith, he studied at the Bern School of Art and worked in applied arts workshops. He had worked as a freelance stone and metal sculptor since 1963. Many of his public works can be seen in Bavaria, including Eggenfelden, as well as in Switzerland. In 1958 he received a silver medal at the World’s Fair in Brussels.
His work “Intertwined” in the sculpture park was exhibited as a gift from the sister city of Balatonalmádi.
