„In recent years, I have focused on geometric abstraction and thinking within a spatial coordinate system to explore equilibrium situations. In my works, I predominantly employ pairs of opposites, both large and small, to create symmetry and asymmetry through asymmetric cutouts, indentations, and passages within geometric forms.

I primarily utilize materials that hold significance for me, such as steel, bronze, or stone. Steel, in particular, allows me to best actualize the envisioned shapes and geometric bodies.

I strive for simplicity in my works by employing clean geometric shapes, aiming to convey a sense of order and harmony within each piece. My smaller works, centered on the theme of balance, serve as analyses and recordings of experiments and observations. My artistic exploration delves into fundamental sculptural concepts such as balance, gravity, proportion, the extension of directions in space, and monumentality. Pairs of opposites, such as statics and dynamics, symmetry and asymmetry, hold particular fascination for me. In my works, I perceive continuous processes that evolve and derive from one another.

I believe that my sculptures should not convey positive or negative emotions, but rather reflect their direct reality and simple existence. This invites the viewer to engage with the sculpture, encouraging them to explore and contemplate its essence.” – Kristóf Kecső
