Ferenc Csurgai

He was born in Cegléd in 1956. Graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 1985. He is member of several professional organizations and received numerous awards. Ferenc Csurgai is a domestic prominent influential person of concrete sculptuary.

Ferenc Csurgai’s artistic activity is characterized by the diversity of genres: in sculpture, experimentation and the search for new ways define his works. In addition to traditional materials, he makes his sculptures from concrete, applying the latest state-of-the-art concrete technology using the latest results of concrete chemistry to achieve the most perfect shape possible. These new materials make it possible to renew the world of form, to find a technique adapted to the individual way of expression. Similar to the previous traditional technical methods, the work is formed by molding or patterning, but size is not a limiting factor, and it is freer to connect the masses together, whether it is organic or constructive, geometric shapes, open or closed sculptural elements.

As a course leader at several art universities, he teaches XXI. century methods.
